Cubetto

Cubetto by Primotoys is a cross curricular early learning resource that helps young learners develop coding skills, problem solving, communication, and creativity through adventure and play.

Made of tactile and hard-wearing wood, Cubetto is a guide to the world of coding; screenless, friendly, and ready to play. It allows special needs students to engage in coding without a reliance on language, memory or working a computer interface.

Each unique tile was designed with blind and low vision users in mind with clear tactile distinction. The button to activate the robot is a large with a clear feedback, built into the stable solid, grippy interface. Plus, feedback cues with sounds and lights reinforce the connection between each instruction and robot action.

Price: USD 220*

Slip Chair

Made by hand in Portugal by Uva for Snarkitecture, the white oak wood frame of Slip Chair appears to be sinking into the ground, rendering it unusable. However a tapered black marble stone slab restores a level, functional surface for sitting. The opposing elements of the light, wood frame and heavy, monolithic volume that rests upon it, exist in an oscillating balance. Rotated on two axes, the implied instability of the slipping form conceals the durability of Slip Chair.

Price: around USD 1,900*

Split Mirror

The Split Mirror by Zoë Mowat for Ariake, was designed with the Japanese concept of Ma in mind, which expresses the importance of a pause, gap or a negative space — as being equally significant to a whole. The mirror frame is made up of two wooden halves that are separated by a break that allows the eye to contemplate the space in between. The Split Mirror is available in two sizes and can be installed vertically or horizontally.

Ariake Collection is a furniture brand founded by Legnatec and Hirata Chair, two factories from Morodomi in Saga prefecture, Japan. Named after the Ariake Sea in Southern Japan, Ariake means daybreak in Japanese.  It symbolises a new chapter for the two factories as they embark on a collaboration with international designers for the global market.
