Scandinavian Design @ Piasa

Next month the French auction house will schedule an auction with 274 lots of creations by design masters from Scandinavia. Here is my personal selection.

There are several misconceptions about Scandinavian Design. It has first started to blossom in the 1920s and not in the 50s like many believe. Then there is a usual fight about including or not Finland to Scandinavia. Technically only Denmark, Norway and Sweden are the three countries forming Scandinavia but we won’t go that far and naturally include great names like Alvar Aalto and more to the group.

On March 4th, Piasa will present 274 lots and I have picked up several pieces from the catalogue. It is a complicated choice due to the long list of items. You can download the catalogue here.

As usual, I am choosing the creations according to my own taste, trying to find a selection of bidding prices and I have no commercial ties with the auction house.
