EDIT Napoli 2024
The sixth edition of EDIT Napoli is hosting over 100 exhibitors and featuring seven CULT shows at the Archivio di Stato di Napoli.
Celebrating editorial and authorial design, EDIT Napoli is drawing both established and emerging designers and companies from around the world to Naples, which has grown into an international hub for design innovation. The annual event offers a dynamic celebration of design, uniting the city’s cultural legacy with cutting-edge contemporary work while fostering connections among a global design community.
The fair continues its mission of spotlighting sustainable design, regional influence and quality over quantity, supporting production processes that merge traditional craftsmanship with scalable design. This year’s exhibitors include last year’s winners, Giorgio Bena and ruga.perissinotto, as well as returning names like Dante Negro, De Marchi Verona, and Mediterranea Design, along with newcomers such as Daniela Pinotti and Luca Gruber. Featuring a curated selection of ceramics, textiles, furniture, lighting, and more, EDIT Napoli also provides a designated area for emerging designers under 30 and companies less than three years old.
A partnership with the Instituto Cervantes de Nápoles and designer Tomás Alía highlights Spanish talent in a dedicated area. The fair’s principal venue will foster interaction, networking and collaboration within the design community, nurturing new projects and partnerships year after year.
Historical Spaces and Contemporary Design Interactions
EDIT Napoli 2024 will blend design with Naples’ architectural heritage. Highlights include a setup in the Archivio di Stato's first atrium by Sara Mondaini, featuring Officine Tamborrino's metal furnishings and a green space designed by Lilo Klinkenberg. The venue’s lounge, curated by Feudi di San Gregorio, will offer tastings showcasing Irpinia’s hospitality and San Gregorio’s renowned wines.
The Best New Project Prize and Jury
A prestigious jury of international designers and experts, including Elena Salmistraro, Alessandro Valenti, Gianmaria Pizzocheri and myself, will evaluate projects for the Best New Project Prize, with winning entries invited to exhibit at next year’s event. Additionally, thanks to a new collaboration, winners from EDIT Napoli 2024 will have the chance to participate in Milan Design Week 2025 as part of the LABÒ Cultural Project.
EDIT CULT and the Citywide Exhibitions
The EDIT CULT initiatives return with exhibitions in historic locations, forging a dialogue between architecture and design. Highlights include Abet Laminati’s terrace installation at the Archivio di Stato and Kengo Kuma’s set design at Teatro San Carlo for Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. Other installations include Allegra Hicks’ L'Uovo di Partenope at Ipogeo dei Cristallini, ALPI Wood’s retrospective at the Real Museo Mineralogico, and Cassina’s tribute to Filippo Alison at the Palazzo Reale.
