‘Mirage’ by Sabine Marcelis for Gallery COLLECTIONAL

For its inaugural show, ‘The Shape of Things To Come’, Gallery COLLECTIONAL, Dubai’s first design gallery, unveils a world premiere by Sabine Marcelis.

For its opening, Gallery COLLECTIONAL has commissioned the Dutch designer to work on a new exclusive series.

Mirage

'Mirage' is consisting of two mirrors and a table. Referencing the duality of Dubai during the day and night, the colours of the works were inspired by the warm desert sun.

The works utilise the unique properties of glass to create layered objects which function as a mirror as well as a light, both reflecting and casting a reflection of colour on their surroundings.

It is also Sabine Marcelis’first mirror creations. Based in Rotterdam, she is known for her materiality, installations, and object design.

Mirage’ is part of the opening exhibition 'The Shape of Things to Come' with commissioned and exclusive pieces by renowned designers with iconic objects from some of the world's most respected design houses.

Gallery COLLECTIONAL is open weekdays by appointment, which can be scheduled through the gallery's website.
